Extracting a molar
I have been quite busy again over the last few days.
Apart from all the usual shit, and even apart from loading up a laptop for Granddaughter the Elder I have been somewhat busy down in the Engine Room.
It started with a few of you complaining about that “Resource Limit Is Reached” message where you couldn’t actually benefit from my infinite wisdom, and all you got was that flaming message. What was worse, it started spreading to my other sites and my Inbox started to fill up with complaints.
It took a while but I found the problem. I think. Leastwise I seem to have fixed it on this site as it hasn’t happened since, so far as I know.
For those of you who have a technical bent [ooh er missus!] it was a piece of kit called a CDN, which is supposed to make things better but obviously doesn’t.
Now the problem is that while that piece of kit has nothing to do with the servers or the browser or whatever, it is an absolute bugger to remove, requiring several crowbars and the expertise of a dentist. Each site has to be tailored to run without it and when you have a dozen or two sites to work on, that takes time. Hence the “being quite busy” bit. I reckon a couple more days should do it.
At least Granddaughter the Elder is happy with her new laptop.
It’s nice to know that something works.
No warnings in these parts.
It was very intermittent. The worst kind of fault to fix as I couldn’t replicate it.
The only time I got the message was once when I submitted a comment. I just thought you were telling me to zark off.
What is a CDN then?
It’s anything you want.
