A bit of Healthy News
I received a phone call last night.
It was Sister-in-Law inquiring about my health. This was strange, nay a bit weird. Why was she worried about me and not her sister?
It transpires that I have another visitor identified out of the dozen or so readers – a Niece-in-Law [is there such a thing or is she just a Niece?] who is of course SiL’s daughter. This niece had read my mutterings about my nasal problems and had passed the glad tidings on, hence the concern about my health with ne’er a mention of Herself. Apparently Niece is a regular reader [welcome, Niece!] so I really have to watch what I say now.
Naturally I told SiL about Herself’s little problems, all about the dialysis and the Intensive Care and how she’s a lot better now and also how Herself doesn’t like her little health problems broadcast to the wide world [all twelve of you, or is it now thirteen?]. She still wanted to know about me though so I told her to read the Interwebs. But she doesn’t have a connection or any of these modern computery things [a very sensible woman] so has to rely on her daughter. I gave her the nutshell version and that was that.
So just to update my extended family, here is the news.
Tomorrow is Operation Day. Both Herself and myself go under the knife. Yes, the two of us, but in different hospitals. This is stretching the concept of marital harmony a bit but there you go. Herself goes into surgery in the morning [Kidney stones? Gall stones? Maybe both] and I take my turn in the afternoon where I still don’t know what they’re going to do but it’s probably something painful.
So there you have it.
I might even have something interesting to write about tomorrow or the day after.
If I survive.
We’ll be thinking of you both tomorrow. Delighted to get a mention in your rambles : ) Niece-in-Law
Welcome SiL’s Daughter. I suppose in Iceland you would be called Silsdóttir?
Wishing you both as comfortable a process and as speedy a recovery as possible.
News of your safe return to these pages will be more widely welcomed than you may imagine.
Best wishes to you both. Hopefully they will let you out on the day, although it might be worth asking if cavanman can take you there & back. Hopefully Mrs Grandad will be out in a few days. Legiron has recently gone through the kidney stone stuff. All the best.
Best wishes to both of you. I know you must be worried and fwiw I shall say a prayer.
Hope the weekend brings less stress, more happiness, and a bit of relaxation for you both.
Good luck .
Good luck, Grandad! (And may the last words you hear before oblivion NOT be ‘Which leg was it. nurse?’
“No nurse! I told you to remove his spectacles”
Aaand Penny? Pining?
That’s a point. Who’s looking after Penny? (Unless Grandad’s taken her with him?)
Poor Penny has to suffer the solitude of loneliness. I make it up to her, big time, when I get home again. She is really getting the raw end of this deal.
Bit late here, but I sincerely hope all is well today, Grandad!
