Podcasting
I have given the matter some thought.
I have ruminated, cogitated, masticated [but not masturbated] and generally pondered over the subject of an audio venture.
Nah!
It would be a lot of hassle, having to tell Herself what I was doing as she would constantly demand to know who I am talking to. I can’t tell her that I’m talking to myself as she thinks I’m already heading into my dotage. If I tell her that I’m talking to my audience she would probably die laughing, and not in a very flattering way. On top of that, I’m not very fond of the sound of my own voice. I would be in a permanent state of cringe during the editing process.
And I would have to buy a decent microphone as the only one I have is the little yoke on the ear buds that came with my phone.
There is also the distinct probability that it would be extra work for me – I already have seventeen or eighteen sites to look after and don’t want another. As it is, I’m on the point of shedding as many sites as I can. I could run it on this site but I have to consider the large volume of files involved not to mention using up bandwidth.
I was actually and occasionally a member of a group podcast many years ago. The participants were two chaps in the States, a lass in Australia and of course myself here. This led to major logistical problems as getting us all online simultaneously wasn’t easy.
So I might just do an occasional post at weekends.
Coincidentally Herself has just asked me to play my selection, so fuckit, I might as well post it.
I don’t know where the hell I originally found this track and I don’t have anything else by Freiheit.
Nice – rather reminiscent of some Paul McCartney/Beatles stuff.
One of the qualities I want is a decent air. A lot of the crap that comes out these days is just tuneless rhythm and endless repetition of a word or phrase. I fing that very irritating in the extreme.
That must be Brian May @ 5.00…
Rather liked that piece, especially as I’d never heard of them!
They are in fact a German group which explains their unfamiliarity. I will be introducing a few groups that some may never have been heard of before!
Brian May should appear in the future, assuming I keep this up.
As the saying goes, I have a face for radio and a voice for newspapers.
Yup. That’s me.
