  2. I think a few days in Leinster House would allow AI to come to regard obfuscation as an acceptable norm!

    • Maybe some day in the near future the doors of Leinster House will close forever leaving just AI quietly running along inside. It would probably do a hell of a better job?

  28. An alternative perspective is that rather than passing laws to control Artificial Intelligence, the EU should focus on creating incentives that encourage companies to use AI responsibly. For example, by providing tax breaks for those companies that demonstrate a commitment to ethical AI practices, the EU could incentivize companies to use AI responsibly and help ensure that the technology is used to benefit society. Additionally, governments could provide funding for research and development of AI safety measures, such as algorithms that detect and prevent bias or misuse of the technology. By providing positive incentives, the EU could ensure that companies are using AI responsibly, without having to resort to laws and regulations.

  29. An alternative perspective or counterargument could be that regulation of Artificial Intelligence is necessary, but that the EU should focus on setting standards for the development of AI rather than trying to control it. AI has the potential to benefit humanity in many ways, but regulations should be put in place to ensure that AI is developed in a safe and ethical manner. By setting standards for the development of AI, the EU can help ensure that its use is beneficial to society.

  30. While the EU is certainly justified in wanting to ensure that Artificial Intelligence is used responsibly, some argue that overly restrictive laws might limit the progress of this technology. AI has the potential to revolutionize many aspects of life, from healthcare to transportation, and overly restrictive laws could hamper this progress. Furthermore, the development of AI is an international endeavor, and attempts by the EU to control it could lead to a “patchwork” of different regulations that could be difficult to manage. Therefore, while regulation is an important part of AI development, it must be carefully balanced against the potential for progress.
