In the line of duty
Okay so I watched it.
In my defence I have to explain that there was a long lead up to the programme. I categorically refused to watch it and pleaded with Herself to record it and watch it when I wasn’t around. She countered with threats. I countered with the fact I had the remote control. She countered with more threats.
Things were getting heated at this point and it was time for some bargaining.
So she got to watch her Oprah and I get to watch an uninterrupted series of Line of Duty on another night.
I spent most of the programme in my own private mental place, just dreaming things and ignoring the shenanigans on the screen. Personally I can’t stand Oprah [I don’t know why, but it’s cast in stone] and as for Harry and his missus – I couldn’t give a shite. I might as well hear the life story the Murphys from Ballydehob as listen to those two. They are irrelevant in my world.
Herself wanted to discuss the programme afterwards. This was tricky as most of it had washed over my head. I just said that I had watched The Crown so any “shocking revelations” would come as no surprise whatsoever. Of course it is headline news here in Ireland so I can only assume I am an odd one out.
Herself was delighted. She had seen Harry and his missus and, as I scribble, the Health Visitor is in with Herself and the two of them are ripping the royal family asunder.
And I’m looking forward to watching Series Five of Line of Duty.
We didn't watch it last night. It was: Only Connect, University Challenge, a recorded programme and then one about such things as the antekytheria mechanism and other stuff like this. BUT…..I did see a clip on the News where to quote my mother "that coloured girl" said someone asked how dark her unborn child might be. The look on OH's face was utterly priceless. MM's dad said it was probably just a dumb question and he hoped that's all it was. I expect it was. OMG the papers today are just full of this garbage!
The one thing everyone seems to be fixated about is the "racism" comment. It is actually a reasonable comment coming from the closed mindset of that family. I'm surprised that Harry got away with the red hair [wherever that came from *cough*]
Only Connect, University Challenge, Masterchef, Outback Opal Hunters, time for bed.
"…They are irrelevant in my world…"
They are in the world of most of us Brits, as well.
I asked at school today, no-one seemed interested!
Now, as for the Murphys of Ballydehob, what did ye hear about them?
I ain't sayin' The Murphys are a grand bunch so far as the world is concerned.
