Cure is better than prevention
I blame the flu-jab.
Doc insisted I had it because I am apparently a “high risk category” in that I am ancient and have a dickey heart.
So he gave me the jab.
And sure enough I have the flu.
Well, maybe it’s not the flu [I ain’t no hypochondriac] but it involves a lot of aches all over and a sore throat and a feeling that I have just been bathing in a semi-solid vat of pig manure.
I very rarely get bugs these days – I usually go a couple of years without them – and when I do catch something it’s usually after the Grandkids have visited. I hadn’t seen them in a while so I can’t blame them his time around.
However I have just had a visit this afternoon. So I made sure to give them plenty hugs and I breathed a lot in their direction.
Revenge is sweet.
Hmmm, the flu vaccine is supposed to be a "dead" flu virus designed only to trigger your immune system, nothing more. Probably just atrocious timing with a cold.
In my case I had recently been attacked by moderate to severe nausea for over a week before I went to see my doc for my bi-annual check up. While there I decided to get the flu shot just to see what would happen (I used to time my annual shot for when I was sick back in the day. It always cured what ailed me within a couple of days–really).
Sure enough the next day the nausea was gone and I felt better than ever. I mean, who wouldn't after a week or so of moderate to severe nausea?
