Things have been fairly quiet on the Warble Gloaming front lately.

In fact it's quite a while since I heard mention of the subject.

Have they finally decided that they were wrong all along and are just quietly hoping we'll forget all about it?  Are they embarrassed that just about every single one of their predictions has failed to come anywhere near the mark?  Are they waiting for some entirely natural disaster to come along that they can blame on Warble Gloaming?

I did come across a major scare story though that shows either that they are grasping at straws or else that they do have a sense of humour.

Apparently Warble Gloaming is to lead to the extinction of the Redhead.

Be still my beating heart!

I'm a little wary of the concept that redheads evolved to combat a lack of sunshine, unless of course Scotland and Ireland are the only places on earth that are more or less permanently clouded?  [As I write this, it’s grey and pissing down outside so maybe there is a glimmer of truth?].  I would be more inclined to think that a red hair gene was just one of those little experiments that evolution likes to throw up occasionally for the laugh, like six fingers or webbed toes.

Leastwise, if Scotland and Ireland do look forward to decent sunshine then I'm afraid the loss of the redhead will be a small price to pay.  

Bring it on, I say.
