It is common here in Ireland to refer to someone as a "headbanger".
Generally it means the subject is a bit of a headcase.
Or if you are not so conversant in local idioms, it means they have a
screw loose slate missing touch of a psychological dysfunction.
Now I would assume from this that even the dogs in the street are aware that headbanging is not exactly wise on a prolonged basis if one wishes to remain compos mentis?
So I had to laugh when I saw that there has been a "study" which – surprise, surprise – states that headbanging can cause problems.
So what's next on the list?
A study to determine if fire does actually burn?
Research into the effects of depriving a person of oxygen for an hour? [Hopefully they’ll try that one on themselves?]
The effects of parachutes that fail to open?
A long term epidemiological study to determine whether life is ultimately fatal?
I can't wait.
