Silencing the Plebs
You have to feel sorry for our politicians.
Here they are with their massive salaries and even bigger allowances, trying to avoid doing anything which may actually be seen as constructive, and what happens? They are actually given work to do. Yes – emails keep arriving in their inboxes.
The greatest burden in a politician’s life is his constituents. They keep annoying him with petty complaints about such trivial matters as over-taxation, septic tanks and other assorted rubbish. After all, he has to live in these poverty stricken times also so he knows first-hand just how difficult it is to live on a hundred grand [plus expenses]. Now constituents are writing their complaints in emails and sending those mails to their representative. I mean, who do these people actually think they are? Don’t they know their place?
Our TDs have had enough. They want to be left in peace to do the crossword. They do not want to know about other people’s problems when they have enough of their own. They have decided they are going to do something about it.
They are going to filter out emails from their constituents.
Problem solved.
After all, the public had their say at election time, and they can damn well bugger off until the next election.
Ah the poor little darlings. Bet they won’t put any “filters” on the porn sites though.
Of course they have filters for porn. I imagine there are legions of staffers reviewing porn sites. After all only the very best porn should be viewed by our elected officials. They don’t want to waste their time and “manual” labors, on low quality porn.
Would’nt it great if you could get a Politician Filter.
I would say a trawl through their Bookmark Files would be a real eye-opener. I would imagine they would be full of porn and sites for booking expensive holidays. [they would need a holiday after all the manual labour involved in the other sites?]
Slab – I already have two – the dog and Herself. It’s an exceptional politician who can get past that pair.
Repression starts with a filter, to wit – cigarettes.
Just saw this on Irish Newspaper EU bribing Irish politicians.
The now PM Kenny bunged an extra €50k a year.
Fine Gael used it to pay Taoiseach Enda Kenny a top-up to his salary of almost €50,000 a year when he was leader of the opposition;
Labour leader Eamon Gilmore and his deputy leader Joan Burton had their salaries topped up by a combined total of €22,100 in 2010;

Ahh sorry Grandad, recently retired so I can bug the hell out of anyone I want, esp that stupid kid on the checkout in Sainsburys, who insists on getting me help to pack me bags………grrrrrrrrrrrrrr….Carmen kill, (my equally doddery rescue greyhound). But do draw the line at not changing my…ahem…undergarments for a month.

Jan M – Is this the gist of the article? No mention of the EU, not that that makes any difference – it’s still a case of filling their pockets at every opportunity.
Strange the link of Kenny getting an extra €50k a year from EU is gone I was surprised it did not cause a bigger upset when it appeared guess slaves not allowed to protest. Yes Grandad that is the story but the other one said it was money from the EU. Pure and simple its a bribe to keep people enslaved to the EU note Liebour also got their noses in the trough.
