Forgetting the Good Old Days
I don’t think it’s any secret that I have no time for politicians?
Politics is just a club where the rules are simple – get reelected as often as possible [promise people what they want to hear and as soon as the election is over then forget all promises], soak up the financial benefits [excellent salary and expenses] and then ultimately enjoy an excellent pension.
No formal qualifications are required, the only essentials are a brass neck and an ability to lie with a straight face.
Take as an example Mehole Martin [one of our Glorious Leaders] who is a teacher. With all due respects to teachers that isn’t a qualification to run a country. Then there’s Varadkar [our other Glorious Leader] who is a doctor, which of course is an excellent qualification to run a country. Another prominent one is Simon Harris, who for a considerable period was in charge of our health and is now in charge of higher education [i.e. universities], science and technology. His qualifications? An incomplete course in journalism.
One of most infamous politicians was Bertie Ahern. With both eyes wide open he led the country through the “Celtic Tiger” years which led to the financial crash which effectively bankrupted the country and to this day the highest national debt in the entire world [every man woman and child currently owes nearly €50,000] This fucker claims he studied in University College Dublin and the London School of Economics, but very strangely neither organisation has any record of his attendance [see paragraph two above, second qualification].
Bertie was finally chucked out of politics after there was a Tribunal of Inquiry into his financial affairs [major questions about large sums going missing and major back-handers – the infamous Brown Envelopes].
And now Bertie is back. With a neck as tough as a jockey’s bollocks he reckons we have forgotten his errant ways or are ready to forgive him for bringing the country to the brink of bankruptcy. The Old Boy’s network has welcomed him back into the golden folds of politics.
He reckons he’s not thinking of running for President at the next election.
Does he really think we’re that stupid?

Chin up Grandad; “Sleepy Joe” is bound and determined to blow this record clean out of the water.
It would be hard to outdo Ahern for sheer audacity. He virtually destroyed the country single handed and expects us all to forgive and forget. He even has his eye on the presidency.
