What’s another year?
We celebrated Herself’s birthday yesterday.
It wasn’t one of those “significant” birthdays which people seem to find so important: it didn’t have a zero on the end or anything like that. On the other hand I consider any birthday to have a certain minor significance in that it’s another victory against the Grim Reaper.
We’re not that fussed about birthdays anyway. Our bodies aren’t aware of the significance of the Earth’s orbit and are content to celebrate the end of a day with a good sleep. We only notice the orbit by virtue of the seasons but they have become somewhat confusing over the last decade or so.
So anyways we had a quiet day with Daughter and the Grandkids [or two of them, anyway], not to mention their dog. It was a very pleasant day and Herself enjoyed herself which is, after all the object of the exercise.
Yesterday was also the anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bomb.
Coincidence?
Grandad,
Please pass along my best regards for yesterday to your good lady. Many more to come as they say.
For a moment, I feared it was going to be a post about Johnny Logan!
Belated good wishes to the lady of the manor
To your good lady and Johnny Logan … best wishes.
All the best to your better half.
Thanks to everyone.
Except to that bit about Jonny Logan. He had no part whatsoever and we disavow any connection.
