A footnote
They say pride is one of the seven deadly sins.
Bollocks.
I am proud of Daughter and I’m not ashamed to shout it to the world.
She never ceases to amaze me. She can apparently turn her hand to anything and just when she has something perfected she turns her hand to something else. She is full of surprises, Her art work is amazing, whether it’s stained glass, painting a mural or decorating a sheep’s skull. Her writing is brilliant as some of you may remember. I have lost count of her talents. Most of all she’s an amazing mother.
Yesterday was the day of the funeral. Naturally, Daughter once again did the unexpected. Various family members were invited up to read out eulogies but when it came to Daughter, she naturally had to do her own thing. She spoke, unscripted and unrehearsed.
Yes, I am damned proud of Daughter and if that’s a sin, I don’t give a flying whatsit.
How kind of you to share such a private moment with all your followers.
Your daughter (and Seán) are both proof that whoever said pride is a sin was talking out of their fat arse.
I’m sure the allegedly-sinful pride is mutual, give her a paternal hug from us all, although she only really wants one from you.
Grandad,
Very moving; delivered elequently with great courage.
Be very proud mate as your daughter says Seán’s spirit is now free
sorry for loss
That was beautiful, Grandad. It got dusty in here watching your daughter’s eulogy.
Me too, Timbo. Damn’ pollen!
Thank you for sharing this. It was perfect and beautiful.
What a beautiful human being, your Daughter. Thank you.
Words fail me. Give her all my best would you?
Fine set of getaway sticks on her too
I wouldn’t notice such things; she’s my daughter….
