Bullshit Bingo
We are on the road to recovery.
The gubmint has set up another road map.
The may be a few speed bumps ahead.
And we will frequently arrive at a crossroads.
There may be times to do a U-turn.
But as long as we keep to the straight and narrow.
We will have the green light to proceed.
We won’t have to kick the can down the road.
Remember the Blairite BS phrases: rollout, crack down etc?
And Alastair Campbell's habitual sly preface, 'What's important is to recognise that…' which of course meant that any objection was untrue and/or not important/relevant.
"Going forward" crops up everywhere these days. I should have included it in the post as it does have a driving theme.
The one that used to grate on my nerves was any Sinn Fein member being interviewed in Belfast having to talk about the "siteeayshun" in every bloody sentence.
Here in my home state of Oregon I'd like to see a majority go RIGHT instead.
Talking Heads' 'We're on the road to nowhere' song is playing on a loop in my head – it seems rather appropriate at the moment.
