I used to smoke menthol cigarettes.
If I remember correctly they were Consulate. I was in my teens at the time and I liked them but they were a tad expensive. If my memory serves, my usual was “Country Life” which were cheap and not so cheerful. It wasn’t long before I switched to the pipe so I haven’t touched a menthol [or any other flavour] since.
But now I can’t touch them anyway even if I wanted to. They are banned.
I fail to see any reason for this ban. There is the usual cry of “think of the cheeeldren” but seeing as kids aren’t supposed to be able to buy them anyway it is completely pointless. If they can buy them legally then they are adults and should be treated as such. And adults who by choice have been enjoying their minty smokes for years have suddenly woken to the fact that their pleasure has been denied them.
I can only see one reason behind this new law. The Anti-Smokers are like sadistic kids pulling wings off flies or tying tin cans to kittens’ tails.
They are doing it simply because they can.
