Life is full of surprises.
I mentioned yesterday tat there was a little “emergency”. In fact that was just an incident that once fixed could be forgotten.
Later in the day I noticed Herself was acting strange [which is the best way to put it]. Maybe I should qualify that and say she was acting stranger than normal. Anyhow I phoned Doc and he called up. To cut a long story short, an ambulance arrived just after Doc left.
They got her into the back of the van and just stayed there. I have no idea what they were doing in there but cars started to pile up each end of the lane. I could hear them moving around inside and the odd bit of swearing from Herself but apart from that it was a like a dead ambulance with cars blocking the lane at both ends. After about half an hour they told me they were ready to go. This meant I was left to sort out the traffic. It was like one of those Chinese puzzles where you gave to slide different shaped pieces of wood to get them into a pattern.
I have been told in no uncertain terms that there is no visiting whatsoever. I can drop some of her things in to the reception desk but then I have to fuck off again. They don’t know how long she’ll be in as apart from anything else, they are testing her for The Plague. It won’t be today or tomorrow anyways.
So I’m sitting at home with two bewildered animals. Cat has thoroughly searched every corner looking for Herself, but Penny [who is infinitely more intelligent] is just keeping an eye on the door for the Great Return.
God but it’s quiet!
