Responsibilities
I was browsing through the papers today.
It was just a browse – not looking for anything in particular – I just like to know what the world is plotting.
I came across a sentence. It was in the middle of an article about Dementia, which seems to be the now Holy Grail for the WHO [completely overlooking the fact that Dementia is a condition of old age which the WHO is determined to push us all into]
However, she said, each person has a responsibility where possible to eat properly, not become over-weight, exercise, not smoke and drink modestly – all of which help to fend off the onset of dementia.
What struck me about this was the word "responsibility". Why have I got a responsibility. and to whom?
I am a free individual and have no responsibility to anyone, apart from the moral responsibility to provide for and protect my family. I have fuck all responsibility to the state or anyone else and certainly not the WHO.
I had earlier been reading about the goings on in North Korea, where as we know the state is everything. That came to mind when I read the verbal diarrhea of the head of the WHO. Is she telling me that my responsibility is to the state? Am I just a little productive drone whose responsibility is to remain healthy and productive for as long as possible whilst imposing the least possible burden on the state?
So I have a responsibility to eat properly and to not over-eat? I have a responsibility to exercise? I have a responsibility to not smoke and to drink modestly? What does drinking modestly mean anyway? Do I have a responsibility to never drink while bollock naked?
Margaret Chan can go fuck herself. Whether she does so modestly or immodestly is irrelevant to me.
No one has the right to tell me what my responsibilities are.
They can politely inform me of their opinions if they so wish, and I will politely ignore them.
As for telling me what my responsibilities are – they can sit on my finger and swivel.
I was doing a bit of browsing today as well and I just read an article on the dangers of drinking….
It scared the hell out of me.
So that's it!
After today, no more reading!
Very sound advice. You can hear all the news you need down the pub.
Ahem Grandad, sitting on the finger and having a swivel is a tad immodest as would be shoving that verbal garbage up the highest rafter in her arse !
I'm still trying to work out what "modest drinking" is. I know what "moderate drinking" is but "modest"? Is there really a dress code for drinking? Do I have to check my flies every time I sup a pint?
i'm using that line ….sit on my finger and swivel
Feel free. I even provide the finger, up top…..
"Margaret Chan can go fuck herself."
Quite…………
Well she's dead wrong about smoking causing dementia. The exact opposite is true in fact:

It's been noted (but not, of course, shouted about) for some time now that smokers are less prone to the degenerative diseases, and not just because they allegedly die younger.
You are obviously forgetting that the WHO is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Big Pharma Inc! 😉
Seems to me that I have a responsibility to myself to not purposely do something like whack off my foot with an ax or something equivocally horrible to my person. To keep myself in sort sort of constant condition that isn't terrible to live with. After all, I don't have to live with any particular person at all if you choose not to but I always have to live with myself.
And modest drinking is when you don't think you look good with a drink in your hand when actually you look quite the man/woman of the world. De-bone-air in other words.
"modest drinking is when you don't think you look good with a drink in your hand"
So that's what it is. Personally I couldn't give a shite what I look like with a pint, so I must be all right then?
You are definitely all right, sir.
And my previous comment has set the record for personal typos I see. Must be the coming of dementia? I think you posted about that also but I could be demented about that.
