The death of a close friend
My apologies for being somewhat late today.
A very close friend passed away suddenly, and I am struggling to cope with the loss.
My close companion Roger finally passed over, after a short illness.
A lot of you will remember my mentioning Roger in past years. He is the one who faithfully navigated me through the motorways and back-roads of life with his cheery instructions. Frequently he would try to persuade me to veer off into a canal or over a cliff, as he had a devilish sense of humour.
I will sorely miss him and his cheerful mispronunciation of Irish and French place names.
I’m too emotional to say any more.
Now I suppose I will have to buy a new SatNav?
I feel you pain my deepest sympathy, i dread to think of anything happening to my wee satnav.
Old Roger, draft dodger, leaving by the basement door.
my condolences to you and his family, quick is the best way to go
Thank you all for your sympathies in these troubled times.
Does anyone know how to remove a corpse from a satellite?
My sympathies Grandad.
I almost always use a pitchfork.
CR.
Tis a sad day indeed. I keep a pack of dental tools and a bag of blasting caps for just such an occasion.

“Gone to heaven (via Luton, Manchester, Edinburgh …)” Hah! Brilliant. 🙂
I have nothing clever to add Grandad. As we get older these are the things life chucks at us. Sorry you lost a friend.
Added late, but really haven’t words other than “our sympathy”.
Getting closer to the front line, unfortunately ….
