A little ray of sunshine
The news is pretty glum these days.
There is Biden ramping up the rhetoric over a hurricane.
And if that’s not enough there is the old reliable – the war in Ukraine.
Let’s not forget the Middle East where that nutjob Nuttyyahoo is going ballistic [pun intended] chucking missiles in every direction. Actually that’s a point that has been confusing me – he has marched his armies into Lebanon without a so much as a please or thankyou, and started ordering Lebanese around as if he owned the fucking place. Wars have been started for less.
But then the little ray of sunshine that brightened my day.
Dutch museum finds beer can artwork in bin.
This is a priceless piece of news. Someone has an excellent judgement as to what consists of art and and what doesn’t. Two battered empty beercans do not under any circumstances constitute a work of art and categrising them as such is a grave insult to all artists who have gone before them,
Chucking them in the rubbish bin is precisely what they deserved.
Wonder if the ‘art-binner’ was the same young child who pointed out that the emperor wasn’t wearing any clothes?
The very act of carefully locating the cans in the bin was itself Art.
Prove me wrong.
No, no, no – if that tin had been brought to an Irish supermarket there would have been a 15 cent refund!
The Tin’s are crap, but no worse than the eternal piles of excrement that win the Turner prize every year. The 2024 one doesn’t appear to be out yet, but just look ay last years one!! 🙁 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-67627980
