HELP!
The peace and tranquility of The Manor was shattered this morning.
What’s worse, life has taken a new turn and this upset to the tranquil life is suddenly permanent.
I had set the alarm today as VGF was to run me into the hospital for blood tests. As a result I was sitting waiting and to pass the time I started watching the CCTV.
A car arrived and carefully parked in the garden. Mkay. I watched. Eventually the driver got out of the car and went out the gate and up the lane. I watched and waited. Eventually the driver returned and did what looked like a war dance just outside the gate. After a bit more watching she [for it was indeed a she, as assigned at birth] came back into the garden and vanished around the side of the house. I got bored and started reading news sites.
Next thing the driver of the car appeared in the kitchen putting the heart crosswise in me. She is our new helper! She is loud, large and of foreign origin [though I’m not holding the against her]. She immediately set about organising the household, fussing around, doing the breakfast dishes and talking incessantly. We have to get used to this as helpers are assigned to us starting today. We have two helpers, one for an hour each morning and another for an hour in the evening. We haven’t met the evening helper yet.
VGF arrived in the middle of all the hustle and bustle and whisked me off to the hospital.
But that’s another story.
My, what a busy household you have. Just lay back and enjoy it I say. It’s a lot less stressful than getting all worked up about it. Think of all the evi, that is, opportunities it affords. Make them take you out to the car in a wheel chair.
Just to say we left some cake on your windowsill. If any other neighbours read this first they are welcome to eat it
It’s the upheaval it takes to get the house tidied up & clean.
I have the same problem every Monday. A wonderful lady comes in & sorts the place out, but I feel like a refugee in my own home as she chases me from room to room with the vacuum cleaner.
