Yesterday was a difficult day.
It involved a lot of lifting an hauling and I’m stiff all over today. Muscles that had become dormant have suddenly sprung to life and are complaining madly. I don’t blame them.
To add to it all, Penny has somehow got the idea that pissing on the floor is fun. I lost count of the puddles I had to clean up and it’s not a job I particularly enjoy. The door to the garden was open all day and one time she even came in from the garden to drop a lake in front of me. I’m running out of kitchen paper again.
By evening time I ws mentally and physically fucked and it was time for a double shot of whiskey. Television as usual was crap so I just put on some music.
Normally I play my tracks from the laptop to the soundbar, but last night, just to save my energy I used my phone as a source. As a result, tracks just seemed to pop up at random which was fine by me.
The first track that came up was one of my favorites. As usual I can’t remember when or where I came across it and have only heard it played once on radio. It’s a real foot-tapper in every sense of the expression.
I feel your pain, GD. Having two rescued Jack Russells that are ‘mad as a box of frogs’ doesn’t make for much downtime, but I wouldn’t be without them all the same. On the subject of music; I remember that one of the perks of being the youngest of six kids was that I often got the opportunity to ‘sample’ their record collections. Happy times – listening to everything from The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Queen, ELO; right through to The Jam,The Police and the Bee Gees. Happy times indeed.
Herself is heading up to Norn Iron with her Dad on Sunday for a week, so I’ll be firing up iTunes without fear of reprimand or repercussion. Happy times…..
