Musical chairs
Our new electric recliner chair is a bit of a white elephant.
Or maybe in this case a black elephant?
Herself has tried it over the last while and has decided she doesn’t like it. She says it’s a pain in the arse. Literally.
In the meantime I had shifted everything around, moving Penny’s chair up to the attic, and my comfy chair over to where Penny’s one had been. I somehow ended up with another leather recliner which frankly I also find a bit of a pain in the arse [literally and metaphorically], while Herself’s new chair replaced the old recliner that I inherited.
She’s not a happy bunny. Having tried all the chairs she did a brilliant impression of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and decided that of all the chairs, she preferred the couch.
Sigh.
So now she wants a “small” rearrangement of the furniture. The couch is to go where her new black chair is. I apparently get my old comfy chair back. The new electric chair and the older recliner are to go where the couch currently resides. Poor Penny is to lose out altogether as her domain used to consist of the couch [which will now be occupied by Herself] or my old chair [which I will be taking back]. She will be lumbered with either a very expensive black leather electric recliner or an expensive white leather recliner. Or maybe I’ll have to retrieve her old chair from the attic.
It is virtually written in stone that after a week or two Herself will decide things were better the old way and I’ll have to shift everything again.
All the chairs have one thing in common.
They are all very fucking heavy.
oh, and just pop the piano upstairs would you …..
Heh! No piano, thank God, or you’d probably be right.
You’re so good at that, could you make it out to rearrange ours this week? I’ve got a twinge in my back.. *bends over to demonstrate*.. OW! OW! HURRY!
I’ll see your twinge with backpain and raise you two dodgy hips.
You could tell Penny that the music has stopped and that if she has no chair she is out of the game and has to go to sit at the side until a winner emerges.
There is an order of priority for chairs in this house. I’m first followed by Penny.
Perhaps you could advertise the two recliners for sale and earn a “penny” or two in the process.
I’m tempted, but Herself has changed her mind again. She now likes the electric recliner. Why am I not surprised?
