I’m supposed to be taking things easy
I’m much too busy today to scribble anything.
So far today I have been up on the roof working on the water tank that’s overflowing again. It needs a new ballcock valve but I’m too busy to go and buy one.
i put a new battery in the oil tank transmitter. The gauge has either showed an error or a full tank, which I know is too optimistic. It’s now showing a third of a tank which I know is correct as I measured with a bamboo rod. Maybe the old ways are best?
I bought a new television to add to the collection.
I packed a mountain of groceries which was delivered.
Had long chats with the District Nurse who called. She’s very concerned about me for some reason but was pleasantly surprised at my blooming health She seemed amazed that I wasn’t in screaming agony and prone in my sick bed. She’s very keen for me to have all sorts of aids like more carers and a hospital bed [costing thousands]. I told her that two carers a day was more than sufficient and that I had had enough of hospital beds for a lifetime thanks very much. I don’t like turning down freebies, but fuck it.
I have yet to sort out a problem on one of my web sites which has been annoying me and is proving very difficult to even try to fix.
I also have a couple of emails to write that have been outstanding for a while.
Yes, I’m much too busy to waste time on Rambles.
As we all know well, you need your head testing! but What the hell are you doing climbing up on the roof? There are many who would do the work for you, some even provided through your ‘care’ providers (I bet asking at the caff, or telling Daughter about it would produce best results). I can appreciate your attitude, being a stubborn old ***** myself, but please stay away from water tanks on the roof!
If you want a job well done, do it yourself. I will however leave the replacement of the valve [when I get around to buying it] to Navanman as he has already volunteered. Thanks for the “head testing” crack. It’s nice to be appreciated.
Sounds like you’ve been given a turbocharge suppository. Check your meds.
I tend to leave things for mañana. I then try a clear a backlog all at once.
In the first 2 weeks after getting my other hip replaced I got the neighbours car jump started, using a spare battery on a sack trolley. Then I spent several hours diagnosing electrical faults at my friends chicken farm, and that was AFTER he’d had some qualified electricians over. He did pick me up and drive me there and back…
