The End of the World
There seems to be a small obsession with the year 2030.
The EU mob tell us to be “Net Zero” by 2030 and I haven’t even a clue what that means. They say we’re way off track anyway. Good luck with that.
The Climate crowd have told us it’s already too late and their annual prediction of disaster in two years time is finally going to happen [probably in two years time].
They have announced a drive [pun intended] to eliminate road deaths in Ireland by 2030. Another net zero maybe? Dream on.
Ireland is also going to be “smoke free” by 2030. Snigger!
The UN has a list of things we have to achieve before 2030 or else humanity is fucked. Their list –
no poverty, zero hunger, good health and wellbeing, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land, peace justice and strong institutions, partnerships for the goals.
You have to admire them for having an even wilder imagination than any author of fiction? I think I have a much better chance of winning several million on the Lottery [which I don’t play].
Only seven years to go…….
The paragraph of inane bollocks from the UN says nothing about ‘telling the truth’ – if all those in power were to adopt that simple mantra, we wouldn’t need to suffer all the fact-free fantasies they spout when floating such nonsensical ‘targets’ as Net Zero and the rest.
That is the strangest list I think I have ever seen. Some of them don’t even make sense. For example, what the fuck is a “sustainable city”?
