Pinball daymares
Last night was a rough night.
That wouldn’t be too bad but the night before was a bit crap too. Two nights in succession are not good for me or my mental faculties [or facilities].
My brain is like a semi-liquid cow-pat after someone has stepped in it.
My thoughts are reminiscent of a steel sphere in a pin-ball machine, zapping from topic to topic in a rapid random sequence so I haven’t a fucking clue what I’m thinking at any given moment. This is not helpful when trying to solve little problems.
One problem was my CCTV. It stopped working overnight so I hauled myself out to the camera. According to my laptop and phone, the camera had ceased to exist. This requires a reset of the camera. First I had to dig out the switch from under a mass and tangle of ivy. I pressed it [the switch, not the ivy]. Nothing happened. Then I realised the power lead was disconnected. I reconnected it. It still wouldn’t reset.
I went back indoors and there on my laptop screen was a grand scene of the front garden, with Penny having a sniff around the front gate. The fucking thing was working after all now that it had power.
Sometime today I have to dole out the week’s tablets for Herself and myself. With my current state of mind that could prove interesting as it requires a clear head, which currently is distinctly lacking.
In the meantime I have discovered a possible problem with this here site. It’s supposed to be notifying subscribers about new brainfarts and I have a sneaking suspicion that it isn’t.
Not that anyone seems to have noticed?
I have been visiting you site on an (almost) daily basis for many years now such that I never felt the need to subscribe. Anyway I have done so now and will let you know if it works or not. Many thanks for all the pleasure your site has given me over the years.
You Sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I have just posted and I think I may have swamped the Interwebs with hundreds of emails.
Todays email arrived without any problem.
Heh! Yes. Along with 246 other poor sods. Apparently only 14 of them actually did anything about it though. The rest are still in shock?
RSS feed still working.
RSS is a lot more reliable – I far prefer it to emails. I find it can be a tad erratic at times. A few times it has delayed for a couple of days and then sent a couple of days’ worth of notifications. Or maybe that’s just my reader?
This was the first notification of a new post I have had for ages.
If I remember correctly I deleted some software as it was a security risk and replaced it with another programme. The long delay since was because I missed out on an important setting.
