Lies, damned lies and statistics
I was going to scribble at length on this, but whats the point?
Personally I really don’t care about vaping. I tried ’em, didn’t like ’em and left it at that. Herself did the same. So it’s no skin off my nose if Cunt Martin has a little obsession about them.
What I do care about is the Nanny State and its idea of using laws to control people’s behavior. Don’t forget – this is the bloke who brought in the smoking ban in Ireland, a thing he regularly brags about as his “greatest achievement” in gubmint. Cunt.
As I said, I couldn’t be arsed to comment about the article. It’s full of “clear evidence” and “statistics show” and other little bon mots so beloved of the Nanny State.
Fuck it.
Time for a smoke.
There are plenty of age limits for products and services. Nicotine is highly addictive and it is better for young people not to start, It took 10 days in an induced coma and a month bed bound in High Dependency to give up cigarettes. That said adults should be free to do as they please in this (and most other) instances e.g. alcohol
It’s not so much the age limit bit, which would be hard to debate against, but rather the stuff they are spouting. “In many ways I see vaping as the revenge of the tobacco industry in terms of getting people hooked on nicotine again.” That is risible nonsense. Apart from the fact that vaping products are generally manufactured by non-tobacco companies it has been shown time and time again that vaping is not a gateway to smoking. Either they are deliberately lying or they are just blindly repeating sound-bites from the anti-smoker lobby.
