I received an email the other day.

It was a gentle reminder that I have to get the car tested for its NCT certificate.

I haven’t been looking forward to this as I knew the due date was the 4th January. A miserable date in a miserable place. And before that I would have to freeze the nadgers off cleaning out the car in the front garden.

I went into the NCT website with a sigh of resignation. I entered the code they had mailed me. Up came all the details of my horseless carriage and they had the correct details including the due date. All I had to do then was to pick a time and day somewhere around the fourth.

I decided to book the first available date.

Friday 23rd of June.

That’s grand.
