  1. Nah, The sky will fall and Skeletor will come through a cosmic rift in the time portal or Aslan might be having a word with each of us individually about wetherwe stay or go.

Outside bet is enough stop drinking the koolaid and look at the gubmint figures to realise they have been conned.

In the past three weeks the totals of Covid 19 as a Notifiable Disease in England have been as follows
    Week 50: 181
    Week 51: 50
    Week 52: 85
The source of these figures is Public Health England.
It is therefore beyond all doubt that Doctors, Medical Administrators, The British Medical Association, Chief Nurses, Public Health directors, General Practitioners, SAGE and all scientific advisors, all the universities working on 'things, vaccine corporations, politicians at Supra national, national and local level. every journalist, tv news editors, on this island are to a man lying through their teeth whenever they open their mouths, bet you are surprised!

Merry whatever it is to herself K8 and thee.

    • Bloody hell!  So GB [population of 60 million] has 85 cases in a week, while Ireland [population of 5 million] reports 1,718 cases in one day

Assuming like for like then either GB has 144,312 cases a week [according to Irish calculations] or Ireland has 1 case a day [according to GB calculations].

Of course the discrepancy is obvious – notification of actual cases [GB] against positive tests {Ireland].  The latter could be anything including ordinary flu!  Has anyone else noticed the reports of no ordinary flu this year?

  2. The magic of whisky. Or even whiskey – Blackbush is magic.

In my imagination Dr. Hologram has the letter H on his forehead. His Alexa, called Holly has gone full on HAL 9000 and is controlling world gubmints by hacking into Professor Kneel Furguessing's Sinclair Spectrum

Spike Milligoon has given up because even he with  Spon, Lurgy, the Nadger Plague, and the Exploding Boots – curable ( well, in most cases stops you dying when your footwear does vaporise) by Skradge the wonder drug, knocked up in an afternoon and very definitely, possibly, does not screw up your DNA and induce Jekyll-hyde syndrome – cannot compete with reality.

But the one catastrophe we could not bear would be the cessation of cerebral perambulations by Grandad. In May or any other merry merry month.

Now, just time for another of my permitted 14 units. Hah. Aye, right.

    • Blackbush is grand  I normaly go for Jameson, but got a present of a lovely bottle of Power's Gold Label.

The cessation of cerebral perambulations is always on the cards.  Am finding it increasingly difficult to parody the sublimely insane.

  3. Here in the wilds of Oregon USA Jameson is number one on my list, but income dictates dictates Tullamore Dew as the most often purchased. Green Spot is another I enjoy but price dictates that it be an annual purchase.

    • Haven't come across Green Spot.  There again, there are loads of new Irish whiskeys out there in recent years.  They're popping up like a rash.

  4. I thought that Covid was downgraded from being a Notifiable Disease early early on in this (so called) pandemic?

And at risk being banned in perpetuity, I saw this earlier, and thought of you…

I've got a bout of that Irish OCD that's going about. I left the house earlier and had to check the door was locked.

I checked it 3 times. To be sure To be sure To be sure

  5. Status of COVID-19

As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK.

The 4 nations public health HCID group made an interim recommendation in January 2020 to classify COVID-19 as an HCID. This was based on consideration of the UK HCID criteria about the virus and the disease with information available during the early stages of the outbreak. Now that more is known about COVID-19, the public health bodies in the UK have reviewed the most up to date information about COVID-19 against the UK HCID criteria. They have determined that several features have now changed; in particular, more information is available about mortality rates (low overall), and there is now greater clinical awareness and a specific and sensitive laboratory test, the availability of which continues to increase.

The Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) is also of the opinion that COVID-19 should no longer be classified as an HCID.
