  1. Ahh I wondered what happened. Sorry to hear about the dreaded C-diff, it’s a nasty little bugger. Not uncommon in hospitalized, nursing home and compromised patients. Hopefully they’ve got it cleared up and you’re out of there soon.

  2. Glad to see you’re still with us, I was beginning to get worried.

My release from hospital was delayed all those years ago when I caught the norovirus. C-diff sounds a bit similar. Norovirus struck with very little warning and seemed to want to expel anything, liquid or solid or a mixture, from both ends simultaneously. So you’ve got my sympathy (and I also liked your photo 🙂 )

By the way, I hope your lawn has recovered.

  3. So let’s get this right, you’ve had a dose of the shits and you’re occupying a scarce hospital bed for a week, basically just malingering, getting fed and watered, waited upon in your private boudoir, your every whim catered for, while lots of folk out here have been worried shitless about you. Feeling guilty yet?
Nice arse, by the way – never thought I’d address that comment to a bloke!

  4. Really glad to hear from you!
C diff is a horrible little bugger – had it just the once and didn’t know which way to turn in the loo. In the end, I’m ashamed to say I stood in the bath for the best part of two days, with regular clean ups and hosings down. It does respond to antibiotics, but they have to be the newest ones and in good doses.
At least your jailbreak is on the horizon. It’ll be better when your back in your chair and herself can relax as well.

  5. C.Difficile, ah, one of those wonderful gifts of hospitals.

I’ve spent my last few weekend fussing around with septic systems and drains and consider that a much lower risk environment than hospitals full of sick people.

    Get well soon.

  6. Bill Sticker has it right – it seems that they get you in for one reason, then find another to get you back, although I would have thought the specialist ward you were in would have been kept exceptionally clean. Maybe it was something in the food(?) Good luck with the escape – I’ve still got the hacksaw/file – just need to bake the cake!

    • One thing I noticed about this stay was the cleaning regime. On my first stay, bedding was changed every day and the whole ward was cleaned, again on a daily basis. In the past week my bedding was changed twice and the room was given a thorough clean once.

  7. Very glad to hear you are ok, I was getting really worried. Hope they let you out soon. Take care.

  8. The fact that you are thoroughly pissed off tells me that you’re back to your old self.
I will take this as a good sign!
