  1. GD, I have been reading your posts since this site began. Please know that my thoughts and very best wishes are with you, your wife and of course K8.

  2. If it’s only the urge to continue here due to the strength of care, love, respect and support you’ve detected that gets you through it, then our work is done.
Now get on with it, get through it and get back to it. You know it makes sense.

  3. God protect you and His blessings will see you through . You are a treasure and one that will continue on for a long, long time. Our collective prayers are with you for a blessed recovery. “Our Father who……”

  4. We are counting on you coming through with flying colors. I shall be thinking of you.

  5. I will be checking this blog every day until my prayers are answered and you scribble something again. Dia leat!

  6. I can think of nothing profound to say but the overwhelming support you have from so many people will hopefully bolster your morale and the fact that you are obviously made of strong stuff will keep you going in these dark times. We’ll all be rooting for you. The very best of luck to you!

  7. All the best, I like your spirit and I’m sure you’ll have a few wry comments to pass on afterwards.

  8. I join in offering best wishes for tomorrow’s op. Kindly survive, in order to continue to offer your wisdom on matters both great and small.

    That’s about it!

  9. Tears here. My prayers are with you, and the team of surgeons, doctors, nurses and therapists. Hoping for the very best outcome. Stay strong and keep up the good fight.

  10. Here in spirit if not in person my good friend. If you have to lose your nose perhaps a “strap on” fake one would suffice? I understand there are many types to chose from. You could have a different one for every day of the week?

  11. I can only offer my very best wishes for tomorrow, you will be in my thoughts every day until I hear you have made it through the op and are on the road to recovery.

  12. Sending you hugs and good wishes from the Canadian Rockies, for a positive outcome. I will be keeping vigil until you re-appear. I’ll bet you’ll have many stories to tell. Best wishes to you and your lovely family.

  13. Look forward to being without the effects of the cancer, I’m sure the profs team will do their best work and you’ll be back in harness in no time. I’d be more concerned about explaining to herself what you’ve done with her husband (he had a beard and his nose was bigger!). Seriously, Best wishes for a successful op and recovery.

  14. My very best wishes for tomorrow and wishing you speedy recovery. I shall be waiting for that next email notification to arrive in my inbox so as to know that you are back with us again.

  15. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed here too. Hope the Total Rhinoceros treats you as well as may be – perhaps you could take it a carrot or an apple as a little encouragement, like you’d do with a horse 😉

  16. Oh, bollocks Man!

You’ll be back next week, and we’ll all read about what you told the nurses under the cocaine, and it’ll be a laugh again from then on!

You have so many chums out here rooting for you, so here’s to your escape from all that pain and suffering – you deserve a better way, and this will be it!

  17. I have long been entertained and informed by your writings, and sincerely hope that you are able to continue when you are able to.
My thoughts and best wishes to you for a full and speedy recovery.

  18. Wishing you the best possible outcome from tomorrow.

The only time I’ve been under anaesthesia was for a trifling gall bladder extraction. As I was on the table the surgeon asked my permission for the procedure to be show on live video for training purposes. “No one ever watches but the equipment has been bought and installed so we try to make use of it…” I agreed, wanting to keep him happy. When I came round a nurse came over and said “Oh, you’re awake. We all went down to see the op on the big screen, it was packed out!”

Looking forward to your reports of the week ahead and beyond. In the meantime I’ll have a rummage in the archives. I subscribe to many blogs via RSS, mostly topical stuff and yours in one of a very few personal blogs I keep an eye on. It’s a rather excellent tonic, to be honest.

    Au revoir,

    Godfrey

  19. Well, last time I said that I’ve been reading Headrrambles since the beginning you pointed out to me that I have been a commentator since post #16 or something like that. Anyway I shall send all the good vibes you need tomorrow.
You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers all day

  20. Your spirited and perceptive ‘ramblings’ have enriched many of your followers over the years. As they say where I am now, in Scotland, “Long my yer lum reek!”.

I hope you will come through this ordeal and be able to look after Herself for a long while.

  21. If the assistant surgeon calls in sick then give me a bell – I’ve recently been getting in some brazing practice with an oxy torch, so I might be able to help. Best wishes anyway.

  22. When I had my big cancer op I left a message to say I had come through it and was recovering if all went well. My son just had to post it to close friends. I had forgotten about it. It’s a bit late now but maybe you could have left a post and your daughter could have posted something like that on here. Of course if it had not gone well it would have been different but he was able to put family and friends mind at rest.

  23. Good luck Grand Dad.
I look forward to reading your next post soon.

    All the best.

  24. Hoping that all is plain sailing for you today, fingers toes crossed, you will be in my thoughts x

  25. I just can’t imagine not being able to eat.
My day is just not the same without a full English breakfast and a side order of lard.
    Good luck anyway feller.
    We’re rooting for ya.

  26. Wishing you all the best wishes, from somone who has been reading your blog for years and years.

I look forward to your return, with another set of ramblings.

  27. Grandad. I know full well that if you pull through the eight hours under anesthetic let alone five or more days in intensive care If you manage to post any more brain farts it will be more than appreciated. God bless

  28. I hope this isn’t the last post.
I have been reading your brain farts for years.
You apply logic and common sense to unwanted government created problems.
I wish you a speedy recovery from the op, just so you can carry on spotlighting the stupidity of these idiots.

  29. Good luck with everything tomorrow.I am full of admiration for your courage and positivity. I only hope I would show the same fortitude were I in a similar situation.
I look forward to your return.
