  1. Welcome to the next generation.
Something in the style of the wittering above gave me a wiff of pipe smoke, a touch of the familiar. The legacy seems secure.

    GNU Grandad.

    • Cheers! Those replies sure do arrive thick and fast, there’s such a lovely community here. I was expecting it but not expecting it at the same time. It says a lot about the ole man.

  2. I am sorry sorry for your loss. May I ask how old Grandad was? And how is your mother doing?

    • He was 75, which I feel is quite young the older I get. He had a lot of sun exposure as a younger man as did I, it’s quite frightening.

Mum is navigating her new path well, she has supports so she’s well able to stay in the manor. She needs a cat, though. I’ve put that request out into the universe.

  3. Referring to your earlier post, my fairground goldfish lived till the ripen old age of 28.So I’ll look forward to your posts for many years to come.

    • That’s so impressive! Wow, did it go grey? Did little hairs start growing out of its ears? What a trooper of a fishy, you must have given it a very happy home.

  4. Best of luck but with Grandad behind you I don’t thing you will need it! I so look forward to your musings.

    • Thanks John, I’m curious as to how comments arrive so quickly! Are notification pigeons sent out when something new is posted?

  5. This is how it should be , rather than mimicking make it your own , although there appears to be a similarity in the writings ! Keep it going.

  6. Gowaan yersel, Bonnie lass.
Kate, ramble in your own fashion. We are all wishing you well.

  7. The despair I felt for Grandad during his huge challenge, just ached with me – going through a similar process every three or four weeks, but his strength just taught me so much, as he was far, far worse off than I am.

I’m so glad you’re carrying on his legacy!

    • I’m glad you’re here, I hope you’re doing okay. Those are words I hear a lot, ‘people far worse off than I am’ but suffering is so reliant on perspective. The ones who suffer the most seem to complain the least.
