Call me Lazarus
Yes, I seem to be back from the dead.
It was a messy problem what required the assistance of someone with a younger brain. All those people were, of course, taking time off with the time of year that’s in it.
So the site is slowly being rebuilt after its worse crash in eighteen [or nineteen?] years. Some bits still aren’t working and the site is slow, so have patience.
It was a bit of a bugger period last week. My CCTV decided to go blank, this site came out in sympathy and a tree blew down. Luckily the tree missed the manor by a couple of feet.
The CCTV is still down. The tree is partially cut up thanks to Navanman. This site is creaking back to life and my new laptop is still playing merry hell with my nerves.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I had better get back to bolting bits on here and trying to speed things up.
Thanks for the heads up – I was getting worried!
Just happy to see you are still here.
Ok, I’ll send ya’ a Walther PPQ in 9mm and you can go shoot the guy who messed up your tech.
It was a back to the future moment when I checked in a few days ago. Regarding the laptop I really would suggest making it Linux only & then running windows on it in a virtual machine.
Sadly, I think you’re right. It’s a right pain as it involves a load of backing up and slow installs.
It’s good to see you back!
Glad you’re back. I read somewhere that the original source code to Windoze and Office is so badly documented that, with people getting older and retiring, Microsoft has little corporate history – people genuinely don’t know what’s already in there, and they regularly start to add features that are already there!
Anyway – great to see the Phoenix rise once again. More power to your elbow!
