  1. The next time you have your prescription filled, you may wish to ask the pharmacist of taking Gaviscon just before, or along with the Nurofen? Although it is basically an anti reflux – for those with an hiatus hernia – It was suggested to me some years ago when on a high dose of Nurofen or Panadol, and it seemed to help. The lozenges were preferable to the liquid, in my situation. I honestly can’t imagine what you’re going through, not only worrying about yourself, but also Herself too, and sincerely hope that you do find a way back to health. Take care.

    • Herself is a great one for the Gaviscon so there are probably several bottles around. I must have a look, thanks.

      • Gaviscon is expensive. Most chemists have generic substitutes that are much cheaper.
Likewise Esomeprazole tablets – the generic version of the more expensive Nexium – are good for the stomach.
Both these were very useful when I was on two bottles of bodka a day …

  2. “Can’t do any harm”.

I believe we all reach a point in life where we adopt this attitude (Anyway, I have.)
