Into each life a little rain must fall
So far, today has not been one of my better days.
Last night there was a fair bit of pain hanging around so I dosed myself with painkillers and sleeping tablets and went to bed.
It was one of those fucking restless nights and I finally got up at seven. I suppose this constitutes as a lie-in as I mostly seem to wake at six these days.
So I dosed myself with more painkillers and made up a bowl of cornflakes. Somehow I managed to spill half the contents of the bowl onto my lap as I sat down. This happens quite a lot and I suppose it’s just down to senior moments or something. It’s a bit embarrassing for a bloke who used to be able to fall on the pub floor without spilling his pint?
I have the car valeting service booked for half three. They are to come here and do the full works on the car, inside and out. It’s a nice looking day out there – some blue sky and a few clouds. But the forecast is for it to start pissing rain at around three and to lash down all evening. Just my luck. Or rather, just the valeting teams luck?
I cleaned out all of the junk out of the car yesterday. That included Penny’s lead and harness. That hurt.
On the bright side, I’m due a pain free day at some point.
I’ll enjoy it all the more when it happens.
Keep the lead and harness, as you’ll want them for your next friend! Penny would understand!
What are the dog charities like over there?
I’m reminded of that scene in the Dambusters when Gibson throws the lead into the bin.
Sorry to hear of all your s**t, Anno Domini should be enough without all the other stuff.
