I forgot about the bin collection last Thursday.

The collection takes place early on Friday morning with the black and green bins collected on alternate weeks. Last Thursday/Friday was the green bin’s turn.

I frequently forget about this exciting event and in the past I downloaded their little programme thingy on my phone which will tell me which bin to put out on which week. For some obscure reason it reminds me about the collection the day after, which is weird. It happily tells me on Friday afternoon [or Saturday] that I was to put out the bin the previous Thursday night.

The problem now is that I have a full green bin and I have to wait a fortnight for the next collection. This means the rubbish is piling up. I’m a great believer in recycling as the green bin is free but I have to pay for the black one. Everything therefore goes into the green one. I’m not daft.

Pondering this mountain of plastic, cardboard and other assorted shit the solution struck me. All I had to do was nip down the lane and “borrow” a nrighbour’s bin so I could fill that and then put both out on the next collection. Neighbour could then retrieve the bin I had borrowed. Everyone would be happy. No harm done.

I nipped down the lane to borrow an empty bin but the neighbours had all retrieved them.

People are very inconsiderate
