Numb numbers
The odd time I tweak this site.
Sometimes I remove something because it’s irritating me or I add something, usually for the laugh. If I do add something it’s usually because it’s part of some other programme that is already running on the site.
I added one of those latter “features” because the software was already there and I thought it would be a colourful thing to amuse me [I’m easily amused…]. I refer of course to the little “rate this” starry yoke at the bottom of a post. I don’t take that too seriously so if I get a ton of “awful” votes I won’t lose a night’s sleep but may wonder what was so fucking awful abut it.
Now someone has been messing with that little gimmick. I noticed that my little ramble the other day about immigration has suddenly garnered 96 votes, where previously a posts rarely scored in the low teens. Did 96 people actually rate the post or has someone been happily whiling away the hours by just repeatedly clicking? My money is on the latter and that’s fine. As I said – it’s just a bit of fun. Interestingly though, 81 thought the post was “excellent” while 14 thought it was “awful”. That’s fair enough. I didn’t rate the post as one of my better ones myself.
Incidentally, I rate this post as “boring” but there aren’t any stars for that.
“14 thought it was “awful”.
More than likely those 14 live in gated communities and have private security services.
I rated it as awful because… well… if you don’t care, neither do I. :p
I see the 96 has crept up to 125 and this little scribble has garnered 20. Someone’s having fun?
