  1. Tricky things, averages.

The average Will is seven years old when it is applied – so if you want to live at least another 7 years, just don’t make a Will.

The average age of deaths from Covid is also 82 – so what’s the big deal?

    • Presumably average age is based on the age of death measured over a year, or something like that? If so, infant mortality, road deaths, suicides, hospital deaths and the like will skew the average down a fair bit? Technically it should be based on the average of deaths should be calculated and confined to those who died of old age. But old age in itself can’t be defined medically.

  2. The average age of Covid deaths in Ireland was 83, the moral of the story was to catch Covid so as to live longer!

      • You are correct young man.

According to a former Surgeon General here in the U.S., pipe smokers on average live longer than nonsmokers. It is possible that he is a pipe smoker himself which may cast some doubt on this statement.
