I saw on the meeja yesterday that Biden has been officially elected. It was official because the television news channels announced it. I didn’t see anywhere that the result has been officially announced.
Over here in the Old World we have adjudicators and nothing is cast in stone until they give the official result. The figures may be up on the board but celebrations can’t properly start until the adjudicator speaks. But apparently the ultimate authority in the States is the television news. Mind you, in a country where apparently the majority believe that Facebook, Twitter, films and television are reality, I suppose it’s not really surprising.
Anyhows, world leaders were frantic in their haste to congratulate Biden so maybe I did miss something?
Fuckit.
I don’t care anyway. I’ll miss sniggering at Trump’s Tweets though I suspect they will continue [and all censored!] for quite a while yet. Can we all look forward to the scenes of Trump being forcibly removed from the White House wearing a straightjacket?
Here at the Manor I shall remain an intrigued observer.
In the meantime I’ll just relax and admire the Autumn colouring.

Unfortunately I believe you're correct in your assessment of Trump's political/social halflife – we'll both be sniggering at the ass for years to come (and regardless we'll still have Boris Johnson.)
The single caveat to that is if New York state prisons don't allow access to the internet, or at least not the unlimited access Trump is used to.

Our process of actual presidential elections is rather confusing to say the least so instead of trying to explain how it works here I'll just include a link to the official explanation and time table:

Suffice it to say that it's not actually "official" until sometime around January 6th 2021 and even then someone in the House or Senate can bitch about it. Tell me this isn't a government operation.
Please don't try to explain the American election system. It seems to be unnecessarily complicated and I just can't be bothered to work it out. I'll leave it to you lot to mess up.
