My seven cents worth
I use a web based bit of software for my “work”.
It’s a great utility and extremely handy for anyone running more than one WordPress. I have no problem with any of its functions and it works flawlessly. Brilliant. I love it.
But….
They have an area for testing software before it goes live. During the test, it’s free. I tested one function, decided it wasn’t for me and disabled it.
A few days ago the control area started nagging me for a credit card. As I don’t use any of the premium extras I ignored it, but it was really fucking irritating. Then on Saturday it changed. It now announced that my account was in arrears and I was about to lose everything unless I paid up my account.
I looked up my “account”. I owed them $0.07.
I don’t know where this came from and I wrote to them. Possibly they were billing me for the testing but that shouldn’t have cost anything. Anyhows I got no reply.
I finally got a message to say that my entire account was about to be deleted due to arrears.
Now I could have let them delete my account entirely and then set up a new account under a different name, but it’s a bit of a bugger connecting all the sites to the new account and setting them all up, and anyway I would be cutting off my nose to spite my face and all that shit. It was, when all is said and done, a mere $0.07. That wouldn’t break me.
I looked for payment methods but found that the only method they would accept was to enter credit card details. No PayPal or anything like that. My piss was beginning to simmer.
I entered my card details and paid the $0.07.
The fuckers took $0.08 plus VAT! It was now $0.31.
In addition they took a bit more and actually charged my card $1.23 [nearly eighteen times the original bill?],but then gave me a credit into the account of $0.92.
The amounts were trivial but that’s not the point. The point is that they have a) now got my credit card details and b) have given me a “credit” that I can’t use so it will remain there in perpetuity.
Now my piss was really boiling.

I received an email this morning. They were extremely apologetic and agreed that I shouldn’t have been charged anything. I have a full refund and a voucher for their services. They are forgiven!
I'm really starting to worry about you and your boiling piss–it seems to be affecting your judgement. You could also explode your bladder and then where would you be? I suggest heading to the loo immediately to relieve the pressure or it might get messy (which you, of course, would have to clean up afterwards).
And pressurizing your bladder to 20 psi in order to obtain a higher boiling point temperature is not an option. Doing so might cook some of your innards.
Don't worry. I recycle it through the heating system. Plenty of hot water from the tap.
Is it a Retardistan company? If so they make Nigerian scams look effeminate…

Report the overcharging and abuse to the credit card company. They will sort it out.
All is sorted to my satisfaction [see my update above]. The credit card expires shortly anyway!
