One or two of you may have noticed an absence of garbage on this site yesterday.
It’s all right if you didn’t. I won’t be offended. Much.
The fact is that the normally calm still waters of life at the Manor have turned in to maelstrom of turbulence and confusion for no apparent reason other than to leave my head spinning and my feet wet.
The week started calmly enough. I even contemplated cutting the grass/meadow as it hasn’t been touched since around September or so and is looking a tad shabby, to put it mildly. Of course the tractor wouldn’t start so I had to charge the battery and leave it overnight. I could have jump started it but to remove the jump leads I would have to get out of the tractor and that would have shut the engine off again. Fucking safety devices!
Shortly after setting up the charger the storm hit. I had to go out and I have hardly been back since. The car has done more mileage this week than in the previous couple of months. The lawn is long forgotten as not only do I not have the time but it has been raining since and the grass is wet to the point of saturation. I am thinking of buying a goat. I believe they don’t have batteries?
Things have quietened down at the moment, long enough for me to fire up the laptop at least. Maybe it’s the eye of the storm in which case things are going to turn chaotic again very shortly?
If you don’t hear from me again for a while you’ll know I’m fighting for my life against the vagaries that life is throwing at me.
I almost wish I was back at work. It’s the first time I have thought that since I retired.
Life was simpler then.
