It baffles me that society is so tolerant of the Bully State.
They spin us this line that we are heading for an “obesity crisis” [which by the evidence of my own eyes is a load of crap] and slap taxes and restrictions on everything related to diet.
In my schooldays there was a teacher who was a great believer in the principle that if someone didn’t confess to something that all should be punished. I couldn’t count the number of times I had been leathered because someone else had been giggling or talking in class. I presume the theory was that a) the perpetrator would by default be punished and b) that the rest of us would later take it out on the perpetrator later in the playground. Now the Bully State is using exactly the same principle.
Of all the people I know, only a couple have the physique of a Sumo wrestler, while the rest are perfectly fit and trim. I would imagine most people can cite the same experience? Now if those wrestlers wish to slim down then that’s their affair and if they don’t then fair play to them. It’s none of my business.
Yet somehow the Bully State has convinced the herd that it’s a “problem” we all share and must all be punished. So they slam taxes on items everyone consumes and coerce the manufacturers into changing their recipes so that the stuff we buy becomes tasteless and bland. Why do we put up with this? Why doesn’t someone stand up to the state and tell them to lay off the majority just because a minority have a perceived problem?
It’s not just food either. They are taking alcohol on in the same vein. They are trying to give us all a conscience about our drinking even though it’s only a minority who have a problem. The tobacco trade has been slashed to the bone “to protect the cheeeldren” yet by law children can’t buy tobacco anyway.
Why the fuck doesn’t the herd wake up to this scam?
Have they really been so indelibly brainwashed?
