  1. “I don’t vote.
Two reasons. First of all it’s meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years doesn’t mean a fucking thing.
Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain.
People like to twist that around – they say, ‘If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain’, but where’s the logic in that?
If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain.
I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with."

    love George

    • This isn't even an election – it's a referendum so there is no question of "choosing" a gubmint.  I don't mind ignoring elections because I am contributing my protest by doing so, but ignoring a referendum is a sheer waste of my time.

      Love Frederick

  2. Get out and Vote "Yes" Grandad so we can get the Gay Marriage passed and then we never have to listen to Iona and other nutters banging on about it ever again.

    • I will in my hole.  I have more important things to be doing [and I have a few weeks to work out what they are].

  3. I have no strong feelings about gays getting married though I sort of resent the redefinition of marriage but that's maybe an age thing. I used to get really annoyed when my husband and was referred to as my partner. Must say though every time I hear a gay couple refer to their husband or wife I get a fit of the giggles.

    • They can define marriage in any way they like as far as I am concerned.  When I got shackled to married Herself the bit of paper I signed meant nothing whereas the promises I foolishly made are the important bit.  I believe in keeping my word and have no need for bits of paper.

  4. It will end up with the church being forced by law to marry gays. Never mind us divorced buggers…..   grrrrr.

    Just see if it doesn't.

    I vote for no.

BTW, in the Scottish referendum I didn't have the voice. Bah and humbumg. Just because I live in London. Born in Glasgow. Lived in Scotland for 13 years…..

    • To listen to some of the campaigners here, you'd swear that people would all have to turn gay just to get married.

I won't be voting No.  I won't be voting Yes either.

    • I agree I was born in Glasgow and most of my family are still there. I lived half my life there, at least 30 years but I had no say either on what would happened to my country.

    • Frank is one of my regular reads and has been for a long time.  I check his site daily [nightly – he usually posts around midnight].

I fully agree about Farage.  He can be a tad controversial but he is the only one over there who seems to give a damn about liberty and the evils of Big Government.  He's not afraid to speak his mind in Brussels either!
