I see our gubmint has decided to give us Plebs what we want.
I confess this has come as a complete shock to me.
My understanding of democracy is that they promise the sun moon and stars before an election and then ignore every promise they have made once they get in. A gubmint's job is to ignore the people. A gubmint's job is to look after themselves and give their pals in Big Business all sorts of tax breaks at our expense. A gubmint's job is to rob us blind and spend our money on their pals and their pet projects. It is not a gubmint's job to listen to the people, or at least that is what I have learnt over the years.
So they are now talking about not introducing extra taxes? The cynic in me says that is because there isn't anything left to tax, but I must be charitable.
They say they are reducing cuts in spending? There is a little hint of the old gubmint here – if they don't reduce cuts, they are still going to require shed loads of our money? But I must try and be positive.
They say there are going to give us more houses? That one confuses me a bit as the country is awash with deserted housing estates but the gubmint knows best, doesn't it?
All this talk of not increasing taxes is making my head spin.
Am I dreaming?
Or is there an election coming up?
