Please bin the comment trapped by it's links. No idea what has buggered it up but here is what I was trying to say.

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

“Humans beings always do the most intelligent thing…after they’ve tried every stupid alternative and none of them have worked”
    ― Richard Buckminster Fuller

    • The site starts to get a bit miffed of there are more than two links [I think it’s 2] and assumes it's spam.  Sorry about that.

I couldn't agree more.  The system has failed abysmally both here and in the UK.  Here, we give 0.004% of the population the ability to make any decisions they like, do what they like with the country [and us] and have free rein with our money, without us having any control whatsoever.  That power is absolute for up to five years and they can do one hell of a lot of damage in that time, as we have bitterly discovered many times.

The system is rotten to the core, and like any building with bad foundations the whole thing should be torn down.

      • I hadn't intended posting any links but the copy and paste function sometimes 'hides' links within the text. Usually I copy into gedit to get rid of them but this time I was lazy so no apologies necessary.

As for better way of running things on theses island how about this blast from the past?

          • Good thing there's no mention of that great cultural embarrassment, the Leprechauns. I never did warm to them sexually ambivalent geezers – they hide the loot under rainbows, which vanish before you can reach them. The credit union account or under the mattress are the only ethical places.

  2. One of their leading lights is Lucinda Creighton who, as a leading light is about as bright as a 1 Watt bulb when it's switched off"

Remind me never to drink tea or any other hot beverages while reading your threads.

    • Lucinda is a tad horny about Europe is she not?

      From 2011
This was YFG poster for Nice. It was designed by none other than Lucinda Creighton the current Minister for European Affairs. Says it all about our ruling classes slavish attitudes to the European Empire

  3. Grandad, I'll join you and other kindred spirits (40 degrees under proof) in casting our votes for the Radical Disorganized Independents Non-Party Alliance whenever I'm in the oul sod for elections. As usual I'll give my No. 1 vote to the candidate I deem to have the least chance of being elected, and No. 2 to the next no-hoper and so on…

    • and that is precisely how the crap system that is in place today came about and why it persist. Voting for the 'least worst option' or the most unlikely option or even simply spoiling the voting paper is taken by the government to mean you agree with government. The end colour of government is irrelevant as it always wins.

Take a few minutes and listen to this fine lady and her take on 'what it takes'.

      It's worth repeating

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

“Humans beings always do the most intelligent thing…after they’ve tried every stupid alternative and none of them have worked”

  4. Do not forget that Lucinda disagreed only with the abortion bill.We could look forward to more of the same old FG shit.

    • My apologies for the tardy response.  Indeed, I hadn't come across that before and it was fascinating.  A bit baffling though that Ireland's first inhabitants were Hebrews from Greece?  Takes a while to get the old head around that?

      • Well just to mess with your head a tad more or better yet suggest that the history that is pushed on us once we understand the concept of a past by the ever so honest state be it Irish or British have a butchers/listen to this chap, Alan Wilson.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GOcttn4VwE

After listening to everything I can find about him and his fellow historian Baram Blackett (great moniker) I can honestly say my mind has been opened and not before time.
According to Alan Wilson and Baram Blackett there were two king Arthurs and without wanting to spoil the talk too much it seems that in their day the world was just as 'connected' as it is today.
It's an hour and a half well spent so if some global warming arrives and you cannot find any old machines to do up or shelves to fight with sit down and enjoy.

        PS

I never swallowed the 'Romans are great' bull and have actually seen vitrified rocks alongside Hadrians wall. The point of this statement will become clear once you've seen the talk.
