  1. that had me gobsmacked! i’m shocked totally shocked at that article.

a resounding N O from me on it! i drink so much water i’d be a zombie

  2. GD, Its so fucking depressing, especially with the Govt.s Bugetathon, we all need whatever we can get to give our heads peace. Anyway there is so much shit in our food and water (especially shit) that a bit more won’t make any more difference.
Its all legal and big business too. Did you ever hear of Monsanto. GM is their expertice. Imagine Tomatoes modded to repell insects. There is (thanks to them) only one kind of Rape Seed, all others are extinct, which they developed (Canola) and own the rights to.
So, a little Lithium on top of all the rest of the shite won’t matter now. However, it may mean chemically, genetically modified humans for the future.
Sounds like a plan from The Master Race.

Q; Why does it take The Government two days to read the Budget?

A; ‘Cos its written in German.

  3. State issued pharmaceuticals? It’s a Brave New Ireland!

“All the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects.”

“Benito was notoriously good-natured. People said of him that he could have got through life without ever touching soma. The malice and bad tempers from which other people had to take holidays never afflicted him. Reality for Benito was always sunny.”

“The policemen pushed him out of the way and got on with their work. Three men with spraying machines buckled to their shoulders pumped thick clouds of soma vapour into the air.”

  4. Cat – Come to Ireland and be haappppeeeeeee!  We’ll be all on a great high.

Mick – I have no problem with Lithium or just about any drug for that matter.  However I would like to be in charge of my own dosage thanks very much.  If they want to issue us all with tablets, then I have no problem with that.

Slab – I have long had more of a suspicion that the pharmaceutical industries are behind a lot of political policies.  The tobacco fiasco is a perfect example.  Nice photo of Biffo, by the way!  😉

Not Green – Change Lithium to Cyanide and I could live with that idea.

Gamma – A Brave New World indeed.  Orwell and Huxley would be so proud of us.

  5. Ger – I’ll drink to that.

Not Green – Luck you.  I’m still waiting on my tablets to arrive.

  6. He’s pre-supposing that adding something to the water supply to effect our mental state is already acceptable. He just thinks that Lithium might be the controversial aspect.

We already add flouride to water as far as I know and that has been controversial for years.

  7. Holemaster – I don’t hold with flouride either.  I like to control what I take.  I have just added him to my Utter Nutter list anyway.
