Freedom — 16 Comments

  1. It was the last day where I had to spend my time doing what someone else wanted me to do.
It was the last day where I ever had to grovel for a bit of time off that I was fully entitled to.
It was the last day where I ever had to feign a modicum of respect for complete wankers who were under the delusion that they could manage or supervise.
It was the very last day ever where my time was not my own to do whatever the fuck I wanted.

Whoa there Betsy!  The above is exactly what you have been doing since your retirement thanks to us lot.

  2. Now that is a good Anniversary to celebrate.

Congratulations and here’s to the next 20 years of freedom – Drink up, you deserve it

  3. Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.
Take these chains from my heart and set me free.
The best things in life are free.
Please release me, let me go.
    Free Willey.
    Cry Freedom.
    Release Grandad.
    And not forgetting:
I’m a wanker, I’m a wanker and it does me good like it bloody well should, I’m a wanker, I’m a wanker and I’m always pulling my pud.
    Happy Anniversary.

  4. It is nearly 14 years of freedom for me, now.
    What bliss !
Thanks for putting into words what I feel.  Especially about the ‘Wankers’.

  5. Freedom is a distant light at the end of a tunnel for me just now. Although not far away, my time will come, if the Govt. don’t keep raising the retirement age , cutting benefits, taxing the bejazus out of me and if there is anything left in my pension.

  6. Dessiegee – No harm in a small dram to celebrate the occasion?  😉

Patrick – An eclectic collection?  Is this an insight into the workings of your mind?  Heh!

The CIA – Will yiz ever feck off!  You lot aren’t even organised enough to work for yourselves.

A Grandad – I’m just pissed off that I didn’t leave a lot sooner.  I had to work up the old pension entitlements though.  That was a bugger.

Slab – All you have to do is to steer your company towards insolvency.  They will then pay you handsomely with a voluntary redundancy.

  7. Now that you have left their workplace, it is payback time for forcing your devotion to their orderly society.

  8. Revenge promotes self-esteem, maintains your sanity, and distinguishes you from the mopes who sit around with a stupid look on their faces while chanting: “what good will that do”.

  9. Happy ten year anniversary there, Grandad. That would be 2001 then? So you got to screw off for about 5 years more or less and then you started this and on a bet no less? And you’ve been a slave to it for the last 5 years so that all works out even. Some might say you dropped one job for another but it’s a bit different this time around now now isn’t it? You are your own boss, you set your own times, you can have the dog at work with you, you can be as much of prick as you want to regardless as to whether you wear your employer or employee hat and as far as your following here is concerned, well…

…you can tell us to feck off any time you wish. So yeah, happy anniversary indeed!
