I am the new nigger — 31 Comments

  1. I understand your pain Grandad. The possition today is utterly intolerable for smokers. I am getting more and more militant about this.

  2. Just quit smoking. It’s very bad for the health of yourself  and other folks exposed to your fuckin’ filthy, disgusting drug dependancy, it’s become hellish expensive and it makes you and your clothes and your house and your car and your friends and your dogs and your g. pigs stink worse than shit. It really has no redeeming features about it. It sure as hell doesn’t make you look “cool” any more. So stop being such an asshole about it, quit bitchin’ about it and just give it up. You and your cuntish ‘psychophants’ should stop using “freedom” as an excuse for your lack of willpower.I promise, if you try and quit, I will too.

  3. I quit 4 years ago ( was a 2 pack a day person ).  Used the lozenge thingies and they worked really well.  We moved during the last week of it and I didn’t break down and smoke while the guys were packing up my house, so I say they did wonders.  I still miss it when I’m stuck in traffic, or after a nice meal when we’re sitting around with coffee, but other than that, there’s not much to miss.
I’ve had a few “one off” incidents since quitting, thought I wanted one, but then put them out half way because I just couldn’t do it. I also knit, so keeping the smell out of wool was a bit of a help as well.

  4. Jennikybooky – I feel provoked!

TheBigYin – Like yourself, I am reaching the stage where muttering isn’t enough.  I am sick to the teeth of this self-righteous holier-than-thou attitude that is labelling me [a normal respectable ctizen] as some kind of inferior being.  I am really pissed off.

TT – Why should I quit smoking?  I enjoy it.  Just out of interest – you have frequently taken me to task on this issue, so I would like to ask you to do something for me?  Could you please send me on one definitive piece of scientific research that proves beyond doubt that ETS is harmful?  I [am a lot of others] have been looking for this for a long time, and so far, we have failed to find anything other than ‘it’s an established fact’ or ‘research has shown’ or ‘everybody knows’.

With regard to the aroma – I and most people I know like the smell of pipe tobacco.  Even most of my non-smoking friends like it.  As for looking cool!!  Hah!  Do you really think I give a flying fuck about how I look?

It’s not willpower that stops me from quitting – it’s the simple fact that I don’t want to.  And I don’t see why I should just because some pricks out there have decided it’s bad for me.  Even if it is, then that is none of their fucking business.

The more they go on at me, the more stubborn I will become.  I cannot give up now, least of all because I would hate to be responsible for you quitting.

Stepford Mum – Fair play.  I am delighted for you, but I sincerely hope you don’t become one of those religious converts! 😉

  5. You’re the one that keeps bringing it up. (Along with the morning phlegm?)
What’s ETS ?  And aroma, just smell your clothes in the morning.

  6. Of course I keep bringing it up.  So would you if you were under attack.

ETS = Environmental Tobacco Smoke.  Also dubbed ‘second-hand smoke’.

No phlegm.  Smoking keeps me healthy.

  7. You can’t prove anything with evidence or statistics or facts  well enough to satisfy people who won’t be swayed by any of it. eg Bushies, religious fanatics, conspiracy theorists etc.  All I am saying is that anyone in their right mind knows that to smoke is harmful to your health and enough of a concentration coupled with years of exposure to other peoples exhaled smoke is most probably going to be harmful to others. And in my ‘umble opinion; if this isn’t reasonable then you are clearly not in your right mind. So just carry on.

  8. Clearly tt studied his  freedom of expression under Julius Streicher and his his diplomacy under Von Ribbentrop.

I would remind him/her that smoking is a legal pastime in civilised country in the world, that if he/she has ever felt intimidated by smokers that he/she have always had a right to open a non smoking buisiness as have every other individual in any civilised country.

I further remind you that smoking control has been formulated by unelected bodies such as the UN, the WHO, fake charities like ASH and enabled by politicians who are too cowardly to uphold the oaths they swore  to their citizens regarding sovereignty and the will of the people.

Further that this travesty of law began in the United States, the alleged land of the free, a country that founded itself with the principle that ALL MEN ARE BORN EQUAL your constitution not mine, yet today you a citizen of that country vilify its noble constitution by behaving like a 21st century member of the SA or SS.

My apologies Grandad I may just of reignited the War of Independance on your website. Like you I feel provoked,  as tt suggests in his/her last post I may be  insane, insane with rage at those who think they can tax me for using a legal product and condemn me as a second class citizen me for doing so.

  9. Mick – I appreciate the offer.  I’ll be in touch.

TT – That is the kind of non-argument that has us in the mess we are in.  I am assuming then that you can’t provide any sort of proof?  On the other hand, I can provide counter arguments.

Soapy – Welcome to my little corner.  TT is a long time commenter and friend.  I was hoping just once he would provide just one little basis for his anti-stance, but, alas, it looks like we are back to the old rhetoric.

C’mon TT.  Please?   Just one little bit of proof that all this war on a third of society isn’t just the result of a shower of bigots imposing their sanctemonious will?

  10. Blah, blah, blah going off on your tangential peripheral nonsense..   Y’all please JUST read what I wrote. Can you really disagree with it?

I AM a smoker. Just not a delusional one. I know and accept the risks. I don’t kid myself that smoking is not harmful. Look at the ingredients. Cyanide? I think you guys are smoking more than baccy. No I can’t prove it. Ask any doctor? Maybe he can prove it to you. Or send you for psychiatric treatment. (Love U2 GD)

  11. TT: “All I am saying is that anyone in their right mind knows that to smoke is harmful to your health”

Indeed. But why is that the concern of anyone but the individual?

  12. TT – Up to a couploe of years ago, I would have agreed with you completely.  Then I began to have doubts and I started to research the subject.  I know about the ‘cyanide’, ‘rat poison’ and ‘arsenic’ arguments but these are spurious as the quantities are insignificant.  Also the same chemicals are to be found in much the same [or greater] quantities in other household items and foodstuffs.  Are you aware that a lot of drinking water contains arsenic?  Incidentally, I did ask my doctor – he is still trying to research it!!

Dick – Very true, even if the facts are right!

  13. Smokers should be banned from blogging as well, for the health and safety of everyone.

    (yes, I’m being sarcastic.)

  14. A little prick in a plastic plod uniform at Kings Cross station has taken it upon himself to harass smokers outside Kings Cross station. Not inside, where the air is kept circulating in under the enclosed roof by blasts of fuel exhaust from enormous diesel engines to the point where the lady informing us over the tannoy that smoking inside is banned ‘for the comfort of all passengers’ starts coughing.

The little prick in the plastic uniform has decided off its own bat to reinterpret the law in the UK on smoking in the workplace. He has decided to shift the no smoking limit barriers right out to the edge of the roof overhang on rainy days and hassles smokers to stand in the rain.

I and a number of others took the matter up with the little prick and during the ensuing conversation it turned out that he didn’t know anything about the smoking laws in the UK.

Started blattering on about health. This is from a little prick who spends the large part of his waking hours around Kings Cross which has one of the highest air pollution counts in Europe.

The little prick this morning was nowhere to be seen and I eventually spotted him hiding away in at the back of the ticket office after the bollocking he got yesterday and the number of invitations he got to try arresting someone.

He was particularly unhappy with my question whether he was going to chase London buses up and down the Euston road demanding they turn their engines off when stopped in traffic.

    The stupid little prick.

  15. Con – Brilliant!  I think you should start a campaign to ban all diesel locomotives from the stations on the grounds of Elf and Safety.  The same goes for cars, buses, lorries and all the other things that fill the air with all these deadly carcenogens.  Let the smokers smoke without any fear of pollution, I say.

  16. The ban was for what exactly?

So all the non smokers could flood to the pub and enjoy a drink in a smoke free social environment? That happened didn’t it?  Oh wait….

Lets try again….this has to be the big one….. it has encourage people NOT to smoke? oh wait… really there’s more of them now?

How exactly can you penalize someone for doing something that is legal? Honestly has this ban and all that it entails really benefited non smokers? Really?

Who exactly is benefitting from the ban then? For me there is only one winner here, and it comes in the form of Tesco and cheap drink and people staying at home. every little helps……

  17. Grandad,  Your fifth hand smoke has enlivened me!

Yes, ask a doctor, – an agent of the government.

Right On, Soapy!   There are still a few Americans who have resisted the Psychological Manipulation of the Globalists, and who realize how precious freedom is.   Yes tt, the New World Order does exist, and you are promoting their agenda.

It is about our every move being controlled, plain and simple.  It is a step in our gradual transformation.

Stand up for other people’s rights, or soon, yours too, will be taken away.

Thank You for your boldness, Grandad.
And Thank You, to the others.

  18. I recall the debate over smoking in pubs and got confirmation during that debate that a large proportion of parents in Ireland and in the UK are deeply fucking stupid.

The response seemed to be ‘yes, ban smoking in pubs because then its safe to bring our kids to the pub’.

Superb. In the middle of another public policy debate concerning alcohol and young people these same bollixes are demanding  bans on alcohol advertising and restrictions on sale.

Does it ever occur to this crowd of unthinking poppets that the most influential voice a child hears or sees is from it own parents up until the time they can consult others by reading or observing?

And these frantic little health freaks were delighted at the idea of parking little Seanie and Susanna in front of them in a pub while they proceed to lower alcohol down their neck. What that says to kids about pubs is ‘this is where adults play. And they drink that stuff while they are playing’.

Way to go, brainboxes. Way to go.

  19. Johnie  – For one reason and one reason only – to force us all to buy nicotine patches and chew nicotine gum.  Though there may have been a major element of trying to impress Brussels in there somewhere.  Even Tesco wouldn’t have the clout to pull off one this big.

Quiet Reader – I shall contine to battle until the smoking Grim Reaper takes me.

Con – These fucking idiots cannot see beyond the word ‘legislation’.  They don’t look into the ramifications and they can’t even see it when their legislation fails in its objective.  If there is a law in place, then they are happy, and Rome can burn.

  20. Hahahahaha……oh that’s great!! Arson sounds like fun too! But don’t give up smoking COMPLETELY, just throw a lot of loose tobacco into the fire you start and breathe deeply….I’m sure you’ll be forgiven for the arson LONG before you would be for the smoking!

  21. you’ll be forgiven for the arson LONG before you would be for the smoking

The sad thing is that that is very true.

  22. Grandad, you keep right on smoking and fuck the lot of them. It’s a personal decision and will harm no one but yourself (if the rumours are true).
I gave them up 18 years ago now having smoked for 30 years – started at 7 and loved every moment. The wife told me she was up the duff and would I think of stopping. I was young and thought it was the best thing to do so I stopped.
Here I am now, 18 years later, 20 kg heavier, suffering from gout, piles , diabetes, freckles, memory loss, gout and god knows what else. I never had any of these when I smoked so I put it to you, members of the jury, that all these afflictions can be directly linked, in a very straight line,  back to that eventual day when I stopped smoking.
Either that or to the day the wife fell pregnant.
Fuck. you have me thinking now. Where’s me DNS testing kit…

  23. Snookertony – I have no intentions of giving up.  It has become a matter of principle now.  I would suggest that you too take it up again for the sake of your health.  For God’s sake, man – you’re falling to pieces for the want of a drag on a fag.

  24. After reading all these comments, I think I need to have a cigarette myself.

  25. Grim Reaper – Provided you do it in your own home. [while you still can]

Dick – Heh!  Nice one.  Thanks for the mention.

  26. Who exactly is the character making vitriolic posts, acting like an adolescent and referring to itself as “tt”. Does anyone posting here actually think “tt” is anything but an antismoking zealot and compulsive liar ?
“tt” calls itself a smoker (Yea right !), yet when addressing other smokers refers to this practise as “your  fuckin’ filthy, disgusting drug dependancy”. This individual clearly has some serious mental health problems.
I think Tiny Tim should tiptoe through the tulips, back to the shallow end of the gene pool

  27. Finally!    I was patiently waiting for something like this!

I think I love you, Mr. Winterbottom.
