Half a million — 19 Comments

  1. My finger tips are well hardened from years of tamping down red hot tobacco in my pipe.  They should be good for another couple of million words yet?

  2. Sundays must be getting you down. Counting your words. Why not count your teeth? You’ll find them beside the bed. If you are mad, I must be madder to reply. Fuck Sundays.

  3. Half a million miles to get to the moon and back, sounds a lot – but half a million days since Ireland was ruled by the Celts, doesn’t sound all that long ago. I guess it’s the way you look at it
Half a million words on your blog though, sounds remarkable! (I’m going to count mine after this).
I look forward to reading your next half million!

  4. Half a million words of wisdom!!!!
My ghast is truly flabbered. And to think I’ve read most of them! What does that say about us all??

  5. Kerryview – Sure, counting my teeth only takes second….  five.  There.  Happy?

Geri – The next half million?  Do you really think I’ll live that long?

King’s Bard – It says that we all have little to do in life.  It would be easier to read the phonebook?

Brianf – Could you please send me a list of the funny words?  I could use them again and give us all a laugh?

  6. tt -“Congrats GD”

“Your comment was a bit too short. Please go back and try again.”

tt- Please go back and fuck yourself whoever you are. Asshole.

  7. Mike – In millennia to come, they shall raise statues to me and praise me for saving the world.  This site is the Dead Sea Scrolls of the future and shall be compulsory reading in all schools.

Manuel – Which word offended you?  I shall remove it immediately.

  8. Hi GD,

I know – 2 days behind! but had to come back to this one…

    The 500,000 got me thinking…

Average ‘professional’ typist – 50 words a minute.
    500,000 words = 6.9 days without stoppin.
On the basis that you don’t sleep, and you’re an average typist, you could double-up by next Tuesday!

    🙂

  9. Hi Mick,

Thank you very much for that.  😐

All I need now is the inspiration for another 500,000 words.

  10. Aww congratulations Grandad. Half a mill is memorable. I just wish it was dollars and you cold send some to your favourite Aussie. Just think if you could type 90wpm you’d well over a million by now? You’ll find inspiration, there’s a new grandsprog on the way, blog awards and you never know, could be the odd tourist in a corked hat around September . . .that’s gotta be food for blogging?
