A nation of masochists — 14 Comments

  1. 80% of people want nothing to do with them they basicly have only their core unthinking support i dont see the issue here ;/ its the same with the greens they always hover around 3-4% support it will never dip below that v0v

  2. Same thing here. The good people of Massachussets (cunts) have just replaced a dead Kennedy with a Republican senator. You may recall these same Republicans are the ones who got us into useless wars killing hundreds of thousands and fucked up the world’s economy. I guess we get the government we deserve. Needless to say a majority of college grads voted Democrat. It’s all about education overcoming media propaganda.

  3. Never have i wanted to punch someone so hard over the internet in all my life.Your arrogance and disregard for the majority is truely awe inspiring must be nice to occupy a nice bubble of smug convinced every one else is wrong and a idoit if they dont think like you believe the same nonsense you do or vote the way you do.

That college education really freed your mind didn’t it.?

  4. D – It baffles me though why they have a core support?  Are there really people out there who are so fucking thick that they will vote FF simply because it is what they have always done?  *sigh*

TT – I didn’t follow the election but from what I heard, the Democrats lost because they had a bad candidate who ran a hopeless campaign, rather that there being a particularly good Republican.  The dangers of complacency!

D – I read your second comment and immediately booked the local hall for a good match.  Then I realised you’re taking a swipe at TT.  Can I watch?

  5. hi GD, normally i wouldn’t cut and paste a joke – but just for today….

‘Working people often ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting…’

Herself and I went down to the village shop the other day. We were only in there five minutes and when we came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

I said, “Aw, come on Guard, how about giving a senior citizen a break?”

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for worn tyres. So herself called him a shithead. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing out a third ticket.

This went on for about 15 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, we didn’t care. We came to Glendoher by bus and the car had a Fianna Fáil sticker. We try to have a little fun each day now that we’re retired.

    It’s important at our age.

    🙂
    .-= Mick´s last brainfart .. The Emigrant Irish – A Vote =-.

  6. Recent comments about valley girls aside (and there may be some truth in the myth) – It was truly believed that if the Labour Party put up a donkey as a candidate in the valleys constituencies that it would be elected!!

  7. Mick – Ha!!  Very nicely translated.  🙂

Cardi – And I’m sure if Fianna Fail put up a bull’s s bollicks, that too would get elected.  Democracy is dead.  Long live democracy.  If you want to change your flag, all you have to do is move?  There is nothing I can do as your service provider is in the U.K.  Sorry!

  8. Cardi – I say Fuck too [quite a lot, actually], but I’m not sure what F******************* represents?

TT – No.  I think you’re the target.  I’ll fight you for the honour?

  9. Good old Republicans … a heartfelt message about democratic principles and a reference to punching people in the face.

Clearly not a graduate- of either University or Life.

  10. Hey Grandad … I wouldn’t worry about polls as they are always only a snapshot of a trend and there is usually a 3% margin of error on these things at least.

What would concern me more in a state using proportional representation is the startling news that the Irish electoral register may be ‘incorrect’ by up to 40% of the details entered on it.

And the Oireachtas seem quite happy to say that they don’t intend to correct that until AFTER the 2012 General Election.

    http://www.oireachtas.ie/viewdoc.asp?DocID=5426&&CatID=63&StartDate=01%20January%202006&OrderAscending=0

Its possible that the last LE, Euro, three referendums and the General Election may well have serious irregularities in the background.

In fact, given the habit of FF stalwarts in the western bogs of having two voting cards per person (one at the mammy’s and one at the new Tig) along with the above news I’d say that its time to notify Amnesty International, Transparency International and make sure there’s some observers at the next polls. Particularly in the bible-bog belt.

  11. Gd- I could never fight you as id never be able to deal with the experience and dirty tactics ;p and yes theres people that will believe or vote for things simply because they always have done regardless of the facts to the contrariety.
TT – im not a she last time i checked and i check often.

If grandda would organize it we could have the fight at the point depot with all the money going to hati ?
