Easter Traditions — 11 Comments

  1. You cannot argue with tradition, no matter how cruel it may appear to be. Anyway, the Prat enjoyed it right to the end [apart from the thistle patch].

And it was nothing to do with me. It was a collective decision.

  2. That sounds like a good laugh. The only tradition I have is that eachyear I must break open my egg in a unique fashion. Yesterday, I threw the egg up in the air and let it land on my head. The dent it made was oddly triangular.

  3. Was the dent in your head or the egg? If it was the latter, you have a weird shaped head!

  4. ‘Twas the egg. It was very confusing, but I believe the ambient room temperature had softened the egg to the point where it caved in like a pus-filled cyst rather than cracking crisply like nature intended.

  5. Ok, let me see if I got this right. In Scotland they throw eggs at each others heads and in Ireland they roll drunken politicians down a hill into cess pools.
And to think I thought it was wierd that we just go to relatives and eat too much then watch Baseball or Hockey on TV as our arteries thicken.

  6. Brianf, The folk in Scotland throw large tree trunks at each other. REALLY!

We are not that bad on this Island of Ireland.

  7. May I humbly sugest a title for your new easter tradition

    splat the prat

    thank you and Good night

  8. Thank you Sean. I will put it to the committee but I’m sure they’ll approve.

    “Splat the Prat” it is…
