As a teenager I rather liked hearing his Aussie hit song 'Tie me kangaroo down, sport' on Radio Eireann, but I'm retrospectively glad I never got a chance to mob him hysterically on the street looking for a precious autograph. How does his wife feel about it all after the shocking trial? How do all his fans of yesteryear feel?
I actually didn't take any interest in the trial. There are so many of the damned things what with Jimmy Savile and various actors from Coronation Street.
Jimmy Savile waved at me once, from the other side of a road. I wonder if I should have reported that?
